Grant Haua
Grant has been a primary singer/songwriter/guitarist on 7 studio albums over the years. His first solo album "Knucklehead" released in 2010 got good reviews in what you could say is NZ's premier music magazine 'NZ Musician' which resulted in an article on his music, which opened a few doors for him on the local festival circuit.
After meeting percussionist Michael Barker [Neil Finn, John Butler Trio], they hit it off and formed "Swamp Thing". For the following 8 years they wrote and toured regularly including headlining festivals both here and in Australia, slowly progressing to bigger stages like Womad (NZ), Womadelaide (Aus), Woodford Folk Festival (Aus), Bridgetown Blues (Aus) and Electric Avenue (NZ). The Swamp Thing album made it to both number 1 & 2 for Album sales in the NZ charts. After departing Swamp Thing in 2019, Grant has been fully focussing on his solo work including his recent blues release "Awa Blues". |
